With a focus both on BIrmingham's and the state's history. Have this highlighted in the library's directory and on the website so that teachers, interested readers and newcomers can find it quickly and easily. Include both books, audio/visual materials and art.

    This already exists to a great extent, but gathering certain kinds of resources (like City Directories, tax (and other) photos, Sanford maps, etc ) used together to research the city's physical history sounds like a good idea.

    If a separate location for the archives and other collections at a former BCS school is considered, this would be a good addition to that location.
