Innovation Lab Makerspace

Let's have a space for the public with cutting edge technology such as 3D printers and laser cutters. It would be an area like Chicago Public Library's maker space--"a version of a hackerspace or makerspace, a community-operated workspace where people with common interests, often in technology and science, come together to learn and collaborate."

Focus on a family oriented makerspace, as the non-profit one, Red Mountain Makers is active in Woodlawn as of October. http://www.redmountainmakers.org.

A kid and teen friendly work area would be appropriate.

Also consider developing (and maintaining) a better technical collection for reading materials, systems development and technical manuals.
