Let's have a space for the public with cutting edge technology such as 3D printers and laser cutters. It would be an area like Chicago Public Library's maker space--"a version of a hackerspace or makerspace, a community-operated workspace where people with common interests, often in technology and science, come together to learn and collaborate."

Glass Studio Box

The inclusion of glass walled studio space for hands-on workshops/programming, artists/designers/filmmakers in residence, and large eye catching pieces and graphics for library programming or for gallery exhibits. The space should be highly visible from the street as well as from within the library.

Whiteboard space for brainstorming/planning/creative work

This suggestion comes from a librarian friend at a university. She notes that their patrons love cubicles with whiteboard space that allow for brainstorming, group work and creative space. A Learn and Experiment Space To Spark Creativity

Have a separated space that has monthly themes where people of all ages are encouraged to come up with ideas on various topics. The library would provide supplies of all types whether it is fabrics, photos, paper, technology, and more.
